thank you

thank you, sir, for your wonderful contribution. good reviews these days seem to be in short supply, which is really something to be worried about. I thank you for taking your time to try and educate the masses - even if you only get through to 1 or 2 people, the work has significance. between poor reviewing and voting nothing but 5s the portal truly has its best days behind it, at least at the moment. i hope that things like this are a watershed for returning to better times.

the only way i can think to make this better is put it in a format that more people enjoy. give them a family guy-esque clip with lots of scene changes and flashing lights and you've got an unbelievably effective message.

kudos to you for doing your part.

Thanks. I do my best!

not too shabby

i was pretty sure what i would encounter when i first looked at this game. naturally, i expected to be sniping stick figures, whether as one from third person, first person, or just as a normal person that likes death and destruction. so i wasnt shocked at this very much. i did have some goods and not-so-goods, however. i think ill share them with you right now...

graphics: a little on the iffy side. i did like the way everything was constructed. you had a pretty good landscape to view and search, and you managed to make pretty much everything combustable. liked that part. however, it seemed a little too hand-drawn and not entirely smooth. i may have missed something or been a little to rash in my judgment, but you can correct me if you like. still, not bad and far better than im capable of.

style: i think we have all played this type of sniping game before. what i think you should do (and maybe have planned) is turn this into another series like assassin. i did like the setup you had with the building and vehicles. the guy on fire was a nice touch. it wasnt the best quality, but you got the game across well and everything worked perfectly.

sound: at the beginning, the chopper was very grating to my ears. again, might just have been me, but i think it overrode and clashed too much with the background music. on the other hand, the music was good when you could hear it. also, the sound effects were pretty detailed for such a short game. good overall.

violence: i think this one is pretty obvious if you played the game. killing stick people is naturally the premise, and you certainly do get to do that. i like the blood on the walls, personall :P and the destroying of...well everything in there helped boost up this score. enjoyed how much you were able to pack in.

interactivity: think this one speaks for itself. you get to do all the shooting is i guess what makes it interactive. but since thats the eitire game, and you made it run smoothly, gotts score high.

humor: the little guy running around on fire gave me a few good chuckles. he just looked to funny with huge flames shooting out of his head. i had to laugh. didnt score too high, but got some because of this little detail.

overall: i think you really managed to pull this off well, considering the size of the actual game itself. i mean, there really isnt THAT much to do or accomplish, but you succeeded in making what there was fun and i actually played it through three times just to make sure i got everything. you managed to get every aspect of a review into this, and i think it deserved a little bit higher score.

6/10 and 3/5. id really like to see this become a multi-level, thought- and timing-based game. could be a lot of fun if your able to make something like that. and as always, comments are appreciated.

thanks and good luck.

interesting

to be honest, i had no idea what to expect when i first looked at this flash. i went into it thinking, this could be either really great, or absolutely terrible. to my surprise (As i thought it would be a little on the poor side) it was actually well-done. ill give you the run down now if you dont mind:

graphics: obviously, there really wasnt anything graphically in this submission. you just left everything black and orange, aside from the half life symbol (not ironically also black and orange). i would have liked to see some different pictures or drawings or something to make it appealing to look at and listen to. it was just extremely barren with only music links.

style: not much to comment on here. you did well making the overall flash. easy on the eyes layout, nothing complicated. i liked those aspects. but still, it just was lacking in pretty much everything else. maybe more colors too? just a thought.

sound: again, its hard to say much (but you probably dont believe that from the review, do you?). you did an excellent job with the quality of the music. it came out loudly and clearly. some of them were actually pretty good and easy to listen to. to be honest, ive only seen the game played once also :P but the sound was excellent. great job here.

violence: self-explanatory. nothing.
humor: same as violence

interactivity: i did have to click to play the songs right? maybe you could throw in a cheesy game to keep people listening and occupied longer. its tough to keep this up while doing other things.

overall: i think you did a great job with what you were trying to accomplish. you got the sound to come out well and had a wide variety of songs to choose from, all with decent lengths to keep you interested. would have liked more to be in the surrounding empty space, but thats just me. actually thought this was really well made. congrats.

5/10 and 3/5. would like to see more from you soon. also, a response would be much appreciated. thanks and good luck.

Now there's a nice, in-depth REVIEW. Most people (including myself) just make 1 or 2 line comments about the flash, so this was really nice to see for a change.

Now it's time to review your review:

Graphics: ...

No, it's not. Anyway, thanks.

YES!

dude! amazing! that was absolutely excellent. everything about this was just really damn good. there have been people who tried to make music-making games before, but this is only one of two (punk-o-matic) that i feel actually do a good job. thats only the ones ive seen of course.

so a quick, although rather unnecessary, breakdown. the graphics were, as you said, visually appealing and calming. they were a perfect match for the style of music you included and just worked well. style, earned you a perfect score because of the way you put it all together and cranked out an excellent piece of work. music was genius. a combination of simple and complex rhythms and beats, but when you put them together some really amazing songs come out. and the quality was top-notch, by the way. interactivity gets an easy ten also.

i do have one criticism, but not to you. the first reviewer is so full of shit. crooked text? actually it isnt. its slanted to match the page that comes out from the side (another characteristic i liked). so that idiot needs to shut his mouth and leave because he decided to vote zero for a shallow reason and obviously never even played the game. people like that just suck.

so a score for you: 10/10 and 5/5. lookin for this to be on the front page and get a great score. well, that and for you to make another with a different song :P i loved it. keep up the great work.

honestly,

not that bad. i get the feeling that you hate emo kids (call it a hunch), and if thats the case then i am right there with you man. i played this game for like 5 minutes cause i really needed to let out some anger and it really worked. great stress reliever.

the graphics and style were nothing to brag about. its not entirely original at the beginning, as we have all seen other flashes about killing emos or emos killing themselves. but after the skin part i had fun destroying the organs. my computer was lagging so badly, even with an outstanding connection, because of all the blood. so i had to give 10s in both interactivity and violence.

a bit humorous, partly cause i was in a bit of a bad mood and mostly cause i just hate emos and emo music. and no, i do not think this emo-killing genre is overdone yet. as far as im concerned, it can last forever :)

keep on keepin on man, and see if you can improve on this with some better graphics and a little more diverse interactivity, so i can play another emo-killing game.

overall not too shabby 6/10 and 4/5 cause i liked the purpose. hopefully well see more from you soon.

Foreverkul responds:

Thanks, but I really don't hate emos as much as you'd think, but this game was made to appeal to the newgroundians like you!

good

wow. that was interesting. i got a terrible score my first time cause i didnt realize what was going on (jumped in without reading any info or the rules :P). but that was definitely a fun game. got pretty challenging for a while but i stopped so i could review. liked the concept a lot. very original and creative. hopefully well see more from you soon.

8/10 and 4/5. keep up the great work!

not bad

for a fairly simple, easy-to-make random fact generator this was pretty good. obviously there isnt much style or any graphics to speak of, but its all in the humor. clever, brashly incorrect and funny "random" facts. not much else to say. good for a quick laugh and enjoyable.

6/10 and 3/5. maybe you can elaborate on this or revamp it with more randomness.

that and i cant believe the last guy actually believed you :P

Kirk-Cocaine responds:

haha the guy before you is a dick :P

I'm working on batter one now. I just need to get enough "facts" before I submit it ;)

great classic

another of the great classics brought back several years later. there still good even to this day. i hope to see plenty more of the favorites resubmitted as actualy ng entries. great work.

9/10 and 5/5. happy pico day!

i know

it wasnt the best game ever made, but it was pretty amusing. obviously, the graphics and such are lacking, but there isnt really a way you can make that game really flashy. it was good for what it is, and i gave you the protection point. i remember playing this with friends a long time ago and now its on the computer. good effort.

3/10 and 3/5. keep workin at it.

nice

good game right here. toms been pumpin out submissions like crazy here on pico day. congrats on the big success your having. and its nice to see mind chamber coming back with another flash. other than januarys submission its been a while. great work.

9/10 and 5/5. happy pico day!
